A woman has reportedly jumped in front of a train between Keenawala and Veyangoda, along with her two daughters.According to Railway Controller Nihal Fernando, the incident had killed the woman and one of her daughters, while the other had been able to save her life.The woman and her two daughters had jumped in front of the Yal Devi train that had been plying from Kilinochchi to Fort.
The incident has taken place around 1.00pm on 13 October 2013.
The Railway Control Room stated that one of the girls has survived the incident but the other girl who was severely injured has died on the way to the Wathupitiwala hospital.
The girl who survived is the elder child who is 8 years, and luckily she had not got hit by the train, police say.
