Neuro surgeons of the of the Karapitiya Hospital, in Galle, saved the life of a five-year-old boy whose skull had been cracked in eight places when a coconut fell on his head.
Hospital sources said 13th October that the child, M. Asad from Kadju Hena, Denipitiya, had been playing with several other children when a coconut, which had been plucked by a monkey, fell on his head cracking his skull into eight and revealing parts of his brain. The child was rushed to hospital where was operated on by a team headed by Specialist Neuro Surgeon Dr. Deepal Attanayake.
