Stories regarding young men and women who commit suicide are common place in induruwa, sri lanka.It was reported from a tourist hotel in front of the Induruwa railway station close to the sea. The couple had committed suicide the day before yesterday evening. It is learnt that the couple had booked into the hotel at 7 p.m. on the evening and had said they would be leaving on the following day at 11 a.m.
After 11 a.m passed as there was nothing heard from this couple, the hotel employees had knocked at the door for which there had been no response. The Management had decided to inform the Kosgoda Police. After the Police arrived they had broken the door. They were shocked and astonished to see the couple hanging from a rope facing each other, made out from a bed sheet in the room. The rope was hung on to a wooden rafter in the roof of the hotel room. They most probably had hung themselves the same evening they booked into the hotel.
On further inspection the Police had found some snacks, a bottle of liquor and poison. On making further investigations it had revealed that the Male party was 34 years old, a resident of Kaduwela and the Female party a 21 year old from Mahawatta area in South Kundasale. She is none other than the Male person’s wife’s own sister it is reliably learnt.
When further information was perused it was learnt that the Male person was a married having a son 4 years old and a daughter only 4 months old. It is learnt that the two had been having secret love affair for some time and it had come to be known only recently when family conflicts had begun.
